Gilde Healthcare was actively involved with Stepping Stones in its Netherlands-wide expansion, purchasing and developing existing real estate, building new locations, and acquiring and integrating smaller competitors. Under Gilde’s ownership the company grew to 12 locations and became the first national chain of private nursing homes specialized in dementia in the Netherlands. Stepping Stones was sold to Korian Group, a European leader in elderly care, in 2019.
