Sonia joined Gilde Healthcare in 2024. She oversees investments by Gilde’s Growth&Venture fund, with a focus on the therapeutic and healthtech sectors.
Sonia was previously Vice President at EQT Life Sciences and was responsible for the firm’s flagship therapeutics-focused venture funds. She held board positions at Evommune, ViCentra, and NOBI, and was involved in numerous investments in private therapeutics and medtech companies. Before EQT, Sonia founded two start-ups, focused on digital health and infectious disease diagnostics. Prior to her entrepreneurial ventures, she was a strategy consultant within Accenture’s life sciences practice.
Sonia holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Chemical Engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada and an Master of Science degree (MSc) in Biotechnology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). She completed her PhD at Imperial College London, where she developed induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell-based regenerative medicines.
